Inspiring Teachers. Transforming Lives. Rooted in Faith.

Join NPCAT’s school-centred PGCE Primary route – offered through Leeds Trinity University’s Delivery Partner Model – and become a confident, compassionate educator shaped by Catholic values and hands-on experience in outstanding local schools.

Why NPCAT + Leeds Trinity Delivery Partner Model?

Training Embedded in Schools from Day One

Under the Delivery Partner Model, your teacher training is coordinated by your lead school or trust rather than delivered from campus. You’ll begin in the classroom immediately, working alongside experienced practitioners in Good and Outstanding NPCAT primary schools. This model maximises real-world experience and reflection-based learning.

Lead School Support — St. Patrick’s Catholic Primary

St. Patrick’s Catholic Primary serves as the lead school for the partnership. It provides professional development coordination working closely with Leeds Trinity University, ensuring your training is well-structured and highly supportive.

Placed in Quality Schools in Teesside

Your placements are situated in Good and Outstanding primary schools across Teesside. You’ll experience different settings while being supported by trained mentors committed to helping you grow.

Programme Highlights: What to Expect

  • School-Centred Training: Based predominantly in NPCAT schools, with minimal university campus attendance, yet full access to academic support.
  • Rich Classroom Immersion: Your training emphasizes practical, in-class learning, guided every step of the way by school-based mentors and the NPCAT partnership.

What Trainees Gain

  • A PGCE Primary (3–7 and 5–11) programme – choose your specialism – leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGCE qualification.
  • A gradual, supported progression into teaching, rooted in real-world classroom practice.
  • Training specifically tailored by NPCAT, providing meaningful placement experiences grounded in community, faith, and school quality.

Entry Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree (honours or equivalent)
  • GCSEs at grade 4/C or above in English, Maths, and Science
  • DBS clearance, health and safeguarding checks, plus a successful interview process.

Fees & Funding

  • Tuition fees aligned with standard Leeds Trinity PGCE rates (approximately £9,535 for domestic trainees)
  • Eligible for Student Finance support (tuition and maintenance loans)
  • Bursaries and scholarships may be available – particularly for certain subjects or trainees

How to Apply

  • Applications open via the Department for Education (DfE) Apply service, typically from October
  • Use Leeds Trinity’s Delivery Partner model codes when applying via DfE Leeds Trinity University
  • Early application is strongly recommended due to high demand and limited places

Ready to Begin Your Teaching Journey?

Embrace a programme that blends faith, classroom immersion, and mentor-led development in outstanding local schools. This delivery partner route prepares you not only to teach – but to lead with purpose, empathy, and excellence.

✨ Feast of St Alphonsus Liguori ✨

Today we celebrate St Alphonsus Liguori, Doctor of the Church, founder of the Redemptorists and a shining example of pastoral care, prayer and devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. 🙏

St Alphonsus reminds us that mercy and compassion are at the heart of our faith. He taught that no soul is beyond God’s love and encouraged a life of prayer, confession and charity.

🕊 Prayer of St Alphonsus for Today:
"My Jesus, mercy, I trust in You."

Let us follow his example by showing love, forgiveness and care to those around us, and by growing closer to Christ each day. 💛

📅 Feast of St James 🕊️

“St James, one of the first apostles called by Jesus, reminds us to walk boldly in faith and to be witnesses of Christ’s love. His journey inspires pilgrims and all who seek to follow God’s call with courage and devotion.

On this feast day, let us pray for the strength to carry our crosses with joy and to share God’s mercy in our daily lives. 🙏

🌸 Feast of St Mary Magdalene 🌸

Today we celebrate St Mary Magdalene, the first witness of the Resurrection and a devoted follower of Christ. She reminds us that no past is too dark for God’s light to shine and no love is greater than His mercy.

Let us pray for the courage to follow Jesus wholeheartedly, to witness His love in our lives and to never be afraid to proclaim His Resurrection joyfully! ✨

"Jesus said to her, 'Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and tell them…'" – John 20:17

🚀🌕 Happy National Moon Landing Day! 🌕🚀

Today we celebrate the historic moment when humans first set foot on the Moon. On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin made history, taking humanity’s first steps on another world.

“One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” These words remind us that anything is possible when we dream big and work together. 🌌✨

Let’s honour the spirit of exploration and keep looking up! 🛰️💫
