St Francis Xavier School in Richmond is proudly celebrating an excellent year, with students achieving exceptional outcomes across a wide range of subjects.

Head teacher Jacqueline Prime shared her delight this morning, saying:

“Today is a celebration of dedication, resilience and hard work.

“So many of our students have achieved exceptional results across a broad range of subjects, reflecting the incredible commitment they have shown throughout their time with us.

“Whether exceeding ambitious targets or overcoming personal hurdles with courage and determination, our students have proved what is possible with courage and perseverance. We are thrilled by their achievements and honoured to have guided them along their secondary school journey.

“This success is a shared effort, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to our staff and those parents who gave unwavering support.
“As our students step confidently into their next chapter – whether in sixth form, apprenticeships, or employment – we look forward to seeing all they will accomplish. Huge congratulations to you all!”

Among the many success stories is Year 11 leaver Hamish Cook, who is celebrating a fantastic set of results. Hamish said: “I am so relieved and happy!”
Hamish is now heading to Darlington College to study Criminology and Law. As a committed member of the Police Cadets, he is excited to continue working towards his goal of joining the police service.

Delighted Tegan Wainwright, who only returned yesterday from a sailing adventure with Oceans Youth Trust – sponsored by Richmond Rotary Club – said: “I am so pleased. I worked really hard for these results.”
Tegan will study Performing Arts, Fine Art and Public Services at Carmel College. She is currently rehearsing for Matilda with Richmond Operatic Society.

Emily Brown  achieved an incredible 6 Grade 9s and will continue her academic journey as she studies French, English Literature and Fine Art.

Friends Kobe Ryde and Joe Knight, who between them achieved an outstanding total of 11 Grade 9s, shared their excitement, saying: “We are delighted!”
Kobe is going on to study Maths, Further Maths, Business and Computer Science, while Joe will study Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Biology.

Holly Thompson, who plays county cricket for Durham, has secured a place at Carmel College to study PE. Reflecting on her time at SFX, Holly said: “I am really proud of my achievement, but sad to be leaving SFX. I am particularly happy with my Grade 9 in PE.”

The students’ achievements stand as a testament to the power of hard work and unwavering support.

Whether moving into further education or vocational training, they carry with them the values and confidence nurtured over the past five years.
